Chris Jones is the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ Benthic-invertebrate-biomonitoring Scientist. His research is aimed at improving methods used to biomonitor the condition of aquatic ecosystems. His studies seek to understand reference conditions for lakes and streams, and to describe the relative importance of different sources of variation in benthic-invertebrate-community composition. In addition to his scientific work, Chris coordinates Ontario’s Benthos Biomonitoring Network, which is a province-wide lake, stream, and wetland biomonitoring collaboration.
